Lolegaon is a very beautiful, small hamlet (Lepcha Village) of Kalimpong under the Darjeeling district. It is surrounded by its own lush green landscape, forest, and valleys. It is just 45 km away from the main Kalimpong town and 50 km from Lava, situated at the far end of the Himalayan ridge. It’s a very attractive tourist spot, especially for nature lovers for its rich wildlife, jungle walks through the forest, and a breathtaking sight of the whole Kalimpong town. It is very famous for the panoramic view of Mt. Kanchenjunga, which has made the place an amazing tourist hub.
WILDLIFE OF LOLEGAON:
The famous Heritage forest of Lolegaon is another tourist attraction, with its age-old towering pines, oaks, cypress, and many more.
CANOPY WALK: There is a hanging footbridge over the canopy of tall trees and it’s a fun place to hang around in the afternoon.

THINGS TO DO AT LOLEGAON:
There are so many exquisite places to explore in Lolegaon. Among them, the most interesting one is the Canopy walk, it’s a 180 meter long hanging wooden tree-top bridge, through the dense forest. It’s an ecstatic view that you will never forget. The wilderness of the entire dense forest keeps you surprised, you can have an exciting adventurous walk through the woods.
If you go to the far end of the Himalayan Lolegaon, you can have an astounding view of Mt. Kanchenjunga and Mt. Everest from Jhandidara. From New Mal Jn there are 2 routes that go to Lolegaon. One route goes via Damdim, lava and Neora valley to reach Lolegaon which is 108 Km long. The other route is 100 Km long and it goes via Sevoke and Kalimpong. You have to choose your depending on your tourplan.
The other station is NJP, it’s about 100 km away from the place. It takes about 5 hours to reach. The same routes can be taken from NJP to reach Lolegaon. The route that goes via Sevoke and Kalimpong to reach Lolegaon is 100 Km long and on the other hand the route that goes via Damdim, Lava and Neora Valley is 150 km long.
Bagdogra is the nearest airport, 105 km away. Cars are available to hire outside the NJP station and from Siliguri as well to visit the nearby cities like Siliguri, Darjeeling, Bagdogra, Mal Bajar, Alipurduar (225 Km away), and so on.
There is a ticket counter at the entrance of the forest, you can buy the entry ticket, Rs. 25 per person. You need to walk for some time to get to the point from where the walk begins.
BEST TIME TO VISIT:
The best time to visit Lolegaon is undoubtedly September to June (though depends on what you want to see). You will get the most beautiful view of the mountain during this time.
Lava is a small hilly village very close to Lolegaon, winters are very beautiful and snowy here. It is the gateway for the famous Neora Valley National park, surrounded by dense forest. It is a popular place for picnics, bird-watching, and trekking.

It is a pristine, quaint hilly village close to Lolagaon. It explores breathtaking views of Eastern Himalayan hills and also the famous Nathula Pass.
