Murti River


Murti is an inhabited place in Matiali CD block in the Malbazar subdivision of the Jalpaiguri district in the state of West Bengal. It is situated near the Murti river between the Chapramari forest and Gorumara National Park. Murti is very famous in Dooars no doubt for its location and the serene river flowing through it. The best time to visit Murti is in winter, which is during the months of mid-October and extends up to the mid of March. It looks as calm and serene as the river flowing through it. All the reserved forest remains closed and reopened around the month of mid-September.

Most of the trains stop at New Mal Jn which is just 15 km away. Cabs are available from Malbajar to take you to Murti and the cabs are most likely to charge Rs. 1000-2000 cost from Malbajar. Chalsa railway station is just 7 Km away from Murti but very few trains stop there. Bagdogra airport is 79 Km away from Murti.
