JHALONG

Situated 99km from the bustling city Siliguri, on the way to Bindu is a lesser-known hill station Jhalong. Jhalong is a small village located on the banks of river Jaldhaka, near the India-Bhutan border in the Kalimpong subdivision of Darjeeling district in West Bengal, India. One of the chief attractions in Jhalong is Hydel Power Station. The dense forest and the majestic beauty of the riverside attracts a variety of migratory birds and animals. This place is also favourable for trekking, camping etc.

Ramsai Rhino Camp is situated inside Gorumara National Park. It is located at the end of Ramsai village in between Jadavpur Tea garden and Murti river. The camp has four cottages with spacious rooms and a balcony. The rooms are clean and comfortable, with an attached western style bath. There is a canteen, a standard dining room at the center—a lawn beside a water body inside the campus.

One can book one cottage ( 2 adults per each ) through the WBSFDA website @ Rs 3100 per night, including food and taxes. The staying plan at Rhino Camp, Ramsai includes three meals, an elephant safari, a watchtower visit by buffalo cart and a tribal dance show in the evening.
